Child Arrangements Order are a type of court order made in children proceedings.

What is a Child Arrangements Order?

Child Arrangement Orders are court orders which decide any of the following:

(a)  who a child is to live, spend time or have contact with, and / or

(b)  when a child is to live, spend time or have contact with someone;

These orders are sometimes referred to as section 8 (or s. 8) orders because the court’s power to make these orders comes from a law called section 8 of the Children Act 1989
